Day 1
Meeting at your hotel or home and leaving to Montalcino.
Free visit to the “borgo” and its marvel, to appreciate its almost fabulous serenity and charm. Lunch on your own.
In the afternoon, visit to the cellar with free tasting of one of the most important internationally recognized wines, the Brunello di Montalcino.
Dinner in a tavern nearby and checking to a B&B (breakfast included).

Day 2
We’ll meet and then go to visit the small “borgo” of Castiglione d’Orcia, founded in the eighth Century, and dominated by the imposing ruins of the Rocca Aldobrandesca. Starting from here, we’ll visit also the Rock’s twin, the Rocca a Tintinnano, a building rising high on a spur very near the village. From the Rocca, one can behold the whole Val d’Orcia in a single, wonderful sight.
Lunch on your own.
In the afternoon, visit to the beautiful Sant’Antimo Abbey, lying solitary in the fields. According to the legend, the abbey was built by order of Emperor Charlemagne, who, on his way from Rome through the Via Francigena, had risked being struck by the epidemic of bubonic plague spreading around from the “borghi” of Mount Amiata. Then he vowed that, if he and his retinue were spared by the plague, he would make an offering to God. They were spared, and as an act of thanksgiving he founded the S. Antimo Abbey.

Day 3
Meeting and leaving to Pienza, the ideal city of the Renaissance, the creation of the great humanist scholar Enea Silvio Piccolomini, who had it built to be able to live in a wonderful architectural setting: whithin the complex, we find the Pope’s Residence or Palazzo Piccolomini, the Palazzo del Comune (Town Hall), and the enchanting central square. Starting from this square, a short walk along the hillside will take us to the , we’ll reach the Pieve (Parish) di Corsignano, an important, very old two-aisles, central-nave Romanic church.
Lunch on your own. Then, in the afternoon, tasting of the famous Pienza cheeses and of other products of the territory.
Dinner in a typical tavern and return to the B&B.

Day 4
Meeting and leaving to the discovery of Montepulciano, a unique “borgo” with all its elegant Renaissance Palazzi, old churches, magnificent squares, and hidden, picturesque corners. From Montepulciano you can see a wonderful, wide panorama of the Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana.
You will be on your own for lunch, with a lot of time for wandering and sight-seeing.
