Day 1
Meeting at your hotel and transfer to Orvieto. Lunch on your own. All afternoon free to admire the many attractions of the city: piazza del Popolo, the Cathedral, the Tower of the Moro and the Albornoz Fortress. Guided visit to the “underground city” and to the Pozzo (Pit) of San Patrizio.
Dinner in a typical tavern and checking into a B&B (breakfast included).
Day 2
We’ll meet and leave to Civita di Bagnoregio, the “dying city”. All day free to let you climb up to the small, doomed village and admire the enchanting panorama that surrounds the almost abandoned “borgo”.
Lunch on your own. We’ll meet again in the afternoon and leave toward Pitigliano.
There we’ll check into a B&B (breakfast included), and dine in a typical tavern.
Day 3
Meeting and then departure to the discovery of the tufaceous cities”, beginning with Sorano and its spectacular Leopoldino. After this, we’ll visit briefly the San Rocco Necropolis and
part of the impressive, sunken “hollow roads” spread with Etruscan tombs.
You’ll be free to lunch on your own, then a short visit of the village will follow. Late in the afternoon we’ll move to Pitigliano, to admire the town reaching it right at twilight.
Dinner in a typical tavern and checking into a B&B (breakfast included).
Day 4
Meeting and short visit to the “borgo” of Pitigliano. Lunch of your own choice and departure for Saturnia and its free spas. If the weather is good, we’ll take a bath in the sulfureous thermal waters that flow out of the spring at 37 C, and, after a couple of hundred meters, form tiny waterfalls, and finally reach some very characteristic calcareous basins.
