Chianti tour

A delightful tour to the heart of the Chianti Region among splendid small Tuscan Towns -with oenological and gastronomical experiences that you’ll never forget!

Day 1
Meeting at your hotel and leaving for Impruneta, the European capital of earthenware. A relaxing walk among the streets and alleys of the small town, also to discover the great works of Luca della Robbia inside the beautiful Basilica of Santa Maria, and to explore one of the few earthenware artisan workshops still in activity, along with the industrial production of tiles and bricks.
Lunch on your own.
We’ll then leave to reach Greve in Chianti, the so-called “Capital of Chianti”. We’ll walk through the quiet streets of this typical Tuscan small town up to the “piazza del Mercatale”, the square of the large market, up to the present day the heart of the life and activities of Greve in Chianti. It is a delightful triangular square surrounded by nice houses with arcades.
Dinner in a typical tavern and checking into a B&B (breakfast included)

Day 2
Meeting and leaving to the discovery of the Chianti region and its great cellars. Included is wine-tasting, and the special experience of the old cellars with their fresh air will help you discover an old world, close to traditional agriculture, artisan practice, and dedication to all that is “good” and genuine.
Lunch on your own.
Then we’ll leave to discover the very small town of Montefioralle with its famous castle. Montefioralle is ranked among the few most beautiful small towns in Italy.
Dinner in a typical tavern and checking into a B&B.

Day 3
We’ll meet and leave for the castle of Verrazzano. During the visit, strolling through the beautiful gardens from the late Renaissance that adorn the large villa, you’ll learn about the great enterprises by the navigator Giovanni da Verrazzano, and you’ll see the wild boars living in the surrounding woods. The visit regularly includes a guided tasting of classical wines, extra-virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and Vin Santo (accompanied as usual by the traditional almond biscuits, the cantuccini).
You’ll be on your own for lunch, then we’ll leave for Castellina in Chianti.
The possession of this fortified small town was always sought-after by both Siena and Florence, because of its important strategical position. What is left of the imposing walls is today a splendid covered causeway, Via delle Volte, with its many shops and restaurants. It will be very pleasant to take a walk through this street, which follows the perimeter of the ancient walls and allows one, through its many slits and windows, to admire the wonderful panorama of the Chianti region.
Dinner in a typical tavern and checking into a B&B.
