Day 1
Meeting at your hotel or B&B and departure for Arezzo
Visit with your tour leader to the discovery of the, Ancient, Tuscan homeland of famous names in the art and literature: Petrarca or Pietro Aretino, as well as rich testimonies of the genius of Piero della Francesca. We’ll visit S. Francis’s Basilica, the Church of Santa Maria della Pieve, the Minster, Giorgio Vasari’s house with its beautiful frescos, and the Archaeological Museum Mecenate, to admire the relics of a long and glorious past, of the times of the Etruscan and Romans. If we happen to be in Arezzo on the first weekend of the month, we’ll be able to wander through the stalls and booths of antique dealers in one of the very best fairs in Tuscany.
Lunch on your own. Late in the afternoon checking into a B&B (breakfastt included), and then dinner in a typical Tuscan tavern
Day 2
Leaving for the splendid medieval small town of Anghiari. In its little squares and narrow alleys you’ll find small artisan shops and boutiques that keep a continuity with the many, old artisan activities (especially restoration) typical of this Tuscan small town. And the whole historical centre provides marvellous sights and a great, breathtaking panorama almost at every corner.
Lunch on your own. Early in the afternoon we’ll move to Cortona, a charming small town that still preserves its medieval and renaissance character. Taking a stroll through its steep narrow streets, and eventually take the hard slope of via Santa Margherita will allow you to reach the Piazzale (large square) del Santuario, and embrace in only one glimpse all the Val di Chiana in its splendour.
Day 3
Meeting and departure to Montepulciano, to discover a wonderful small town, a really unique place, rich with elegant Renaissance palazzi, ancient churches, splendid squares, and small, hidden but enchanting corners.
Lunch on your own. In the afternoon, visit to a cellar, with tasting of the internationally famous Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
Tavern in a typical town and back to the B&B.
Day 4
Departure for a relaxing morning in the Rapolano spa with their thermal pools. Lunch at the spa, and in the afternoon return according to your preferences.
