Day 1
Meeting at your hotel and transfer to Volterra. Visit of the city with your guide to discover Etruscan and Roman relics, the Vallebuona Roman Theatre, the acropolis, the necropolis, the medieval city with its surrounding walls, Piazza dei Priori, and the view on the impressive “Balze” (Crags) landscape around. We’ll visit the many workshops, in which alabaster is shaped in the old artisan ways. Lunch of your own choice, and free time to visit the Museums and the Art Gallery.
Late in the afternoon meeting and transfer to San Gimignano.
Lunch in a typical tavern and then checking into a B&B (breakfast included).
Day 2
Meeting at the B&B with your guide and then visit of the small medieval town, with the Cathedral Square, the Palazzo Vecchio del Podestà, piazza Pecori, and the delightful piazza sant’Agostino. We’ll also ascend the Torre Grossa (the Big Tower) up to 54 ms, to admire the whole town and the beautiful surrounding countryside from above. End of the visit in the picturesque Rocca (Stronghold) of Montestaffoli.
Then you will have free time for lunch and visits to museums and palazzi on your own. In the afternoon, free tasting of DOCG wines with a snack to enjoy other local products.
Later on in the afternoon, we’ll leave to Monteriggioni, check into a B&B (breakfast included), and have dinner in a nearby farm holiday.
Day 3
Meeting with your guide, then you will be free to visit and enjoy Monteriggioni, a small medieval jewel of architecture and art, and to have lunch on your own.
In the afternoon, we’ll leave to reach Siena, check into a B&B, make a first visit to the city and its historical centre, and then have dinner in a typical tavern.
Day 4
Meeting with the guide and visit in details of the splendid city. We’ll see and visit Piazza del Campo with its Torre (Tower) del Mangia, the Cathedral and the Baptistery, the Palazzo Pubblico (seat of the Municipality and an art museum), and the Church of Santa Maria della Scala.
Lunch on your own and more time to visit the city and its museums.
Late in the afternoon, return to your hotels according to your preferences.
